August 2010 Newsletter

THANKYOU and WELL DONE to everyone who represented the club at The Ultimate 2010. The good news is that we are joint Club Champions 2010 gaining equal top points with Aire Valley Riding Club – here’s to next years event – can we do the double???

I’d also just like to say another well done – this time to Lyndsay Hancock with Mesham Metz who took the individual Supreme Ridden Championship at The Ultimate for the club.

Moving on, we had a really good day at the Trophy Show – great turnout again and some very happy faces! Special mention to our Fancy Dress competitors who made a great effort, the judge had a difficult time in that class! Congratulations to Amelia Dumbleton and Merlin who came out tops this time!

Next show is our Charity Show on Sunday 12th September, all proceeds from this show are to be donated to Help For Heroes. The schedule for this show is enclosed and we hope loads of you can make it and support this worthwhile cause. If anyone would like to help out by stewarding at this show could you let us know, as some of the committee would like to show at this event if other help is available.

We’ve also added to the events calendar, as those who check out our face book site will know, with an end of season Dressage, Mini Cross Country,  Jumping, In Hand & Gymkhana Show on Sunday 26th September, schedule again enclosed. Were also needing volunteers to jump watch at this event between 9.45am and 1.30pm – please let David know if you can help 01274 604003 or david.doreen@live.co.uk

Were also, once again, doing a Treasure Hunt with Shibden & District Bridleways on Sunday 10th October, more details in the next newsletter, but keep the date free!

Tickets for the Presentation Night at The Raggalds Country Inn, Queensbury on Saturday 27th November go on sale at the Charity Show at £10 per person. Once again, were limiting tickets to 4 per member until the end of September to give everyone a chance of attending. We are strictly limited on the numbers we can have in the room and we want to give everyone the possibility of attending. Price includes presentation, hot & cold buffet and disco till late.

We’ve also got an Equine Car Boot Sale in the pipeline – I’ll let you have the date soon!

Last years point’s winners don’t forget that your Trophies are now due back – please bring them to the next show and your £10 deposits will be refunded.

Well hope to see you at the Charity Show!
